Movie TIme !

Finally!!!! I had some issues that I had to figure out myself which I think some of you know I am not the most computer savvy person on this earth ( Vlady you usually did everything for me! I miss that A LOT! ) So anyway in my last post I said I was gonna go see Day and Knight ( It is actually Knight and Day haha ) and The Kids are All Right. I have since seen both and was extremely happy with them. Day and Knight was everything I wanted it to be; Funny, exciting, entertaining, silly, and just simply entertaining. It was the kind of movie that you would want to see in the Summer to just entertain you and keep you interested from beginning to end. I even liked Cameron Diaz in this movie, her acting usually upsets me because she comes across as some pretty chick just delivering lines, she never gets into her character to become that person. I think that this was her next best film after The Mask. Yes that's right, The Mask was her last good film. Now of course when she plays Fiona I love her, but that is just her fun voice. OK I think I'm done ripping on Cameron ;-)

So now I would like to talk about The Kids are All Right, this movie was absolutely perfect. It is usually not that easy for me to throw around the word perfect, but it truly was. The acting was flawless from every actor starting with my favorite Jules ( Julianne Moore ) she was so totally committed to her character and she delivered her performance so well that there was no part of me that thought oh she is just acting. The same goes for Nic ( Annette Bening ) as a friend of mine has said in his blog already; I don't see how she has not been in more commanding roles as this. They both became these characters so well that I honestly felt that I was watching their true family's issues unfold in front of me. The story was so simple and sweet but the Direction by Lisa Cholodenko was so precise and perfect that her actors fell into their characters so beautifully and ( seemingly ) effortlessly that there was no way not to fall in love withe them and want to see what will unfold in this movie for them. I was totally connected to the film from the opening skateboarding scene til the very last credit rolled off the screen. I have to say that I haven't been this enthralled and in love with a film since Mystic River. I won't be comparing the two because they are so opposite, but I loved Mystic River so much that it still plays out for me like I'm watching it for the firs time, and I think that The Kids are All Right will do the same for me.

So all of this being said, I also mentioned in before that I will be blogging about some possible film ideas of my own. Here is one that I have had rolling around in my head for a while now. The story is a Girl who is caught between real life and fantasy, the film will play out in a way that the audience may not really know which is the real life and which is the fantasy life. I want it to be a Dramedy, so this is going to be interesting for me to write some dramatic scenes, but I am excited and really looking forward to it. So this is definitely not enough info yet, but I just wanted to get a little bit out there to stir the pot a little ;-) There will be much more to come so don't worry!

So there we have it folks two great movies that are definitely a must see and one movie in the works that will one day also be a must see ;-)

And so it Begins...

Hello there, so I know that technically I was supposed to write a new blog last night but I was just too exhausted! Booo, I know bad excuse, terrible excuse, but it is the truth :-( I think I will start with last Friday July 9th, it was my one year anniversary of living out here and I decided to celebrate with some of my new friends and some of my old friends. We all went to a 24 hour diner in Hollywood called K24 I love the place, the food is great, they serve liquor and their milkshakes are ridiculous. The one bad thing is that the parking around there is almost non-existent! Some of the people that I invited circled the blocks for a while and never made it in which I felt terrible about :-( But a great group did make it and we had a blast! I honestly can't believe that I have officially been out here for a whole year, time flies by the older you get, I used to hear that all the time and thought noway, it won't FLY by, but yep it really does just fly right by!

So this week I worked on a play with my friend Becky and it was quite a hit! It was a series of four One Act Horror plays, it was just a preview which meant it only ran for three days, but we had such a great response to it that they are trying to set it up to show again in October. They are also looking for more plays to show, so if you know of any Creepy, spooky, strange, horror one act plays let me know or look into at: www.thevisceralcompany.com Here is the link to a pretty great review that the play got.

I think possibly the best part of working on this play was that it gave me a little more of a nudge to try my hand at some acting. I am looking into getting into some improv work or sketch comedy, I am even considering possibly doing some stand up...maybe! ( Sorry Becky, if you read this, I have to take baby steps OK! hehe ) Anyway That is going to be my next new adventure that I plan to keep you all updated on as it unfolds. So that's what's going on on my end here in SoCal! It still sounds better to say The Chi ;-) Though I can get used to this weather out here! The winters are never colder then the mid to low 50's at night, and the Summer's have no humidity! It is so nice to not walk outside of my apartment and begin to melt instantly and have my hair get all crazy and frizzy! Oh and don't get me started on being so close to the Ocean! It never stops taking my breath away as I approach the beach to lay out in the sun and I pass through the palm trees and see the waves crashing, it is just too gorgeous.

I think that I am going to go see Day and Knight tomorrow in the morning so that I can get in for half price and since nobody out here wants to see it with me! I like big Summer Blockbusters, yeah that's right I do! They are fun and exciting and entertaining, just what they are supposed to be! I mean don't get me wrong I know that it isn't going to be artistically a well done movie, but it will entertain me which is exactly what I want out of it. I know that some of my film making friends don't like to see this type of movie because they are sell out films, but I don't discriminate, I like to see all ranges of movies from good, bad, artsy, foreign, independent, to goofy-off the wall ridiculous! I think you need to see all types of movies so that you can appreciate a great film when you see it. That is a whole other Blog though, that I will have to work on, because I have a lot to say about movies, which I am sure most of you all know that about me! :-) OK so stay tuned and check back in tomorrow night to catch another well rounded Blog about what is happening around here!

Hello, hello there everyone. It has been a few days and actually a lot has happened! The best thing I have to say though happened yesterday as I was exiting the Trader Joe's on Olympic. There I was all done and walking out with my bags of groceries, my sunglasses were on my head so my hair was totally pulled back and as I was walking out I noticed a guy walking in wearing funky sweatpants and an bright orange t-shirt. I look up to his face and realize that this oddly dressed man is none other then John Malkovich! Yep that's right "Lenny" was entering the store that I was just in. I looked at him with giant eyes and shock smiling and searching my brain for the words "hello, or hi, or hey it's you..." But as usual nothing, not a single word just a crazy friggin face and he looks straight at me and says "Yeah I know." And smiles. Then I look back at him and giggle and still just stare! Then he says to me!!!!! " You know young lady you have beautiful eyes." All I could do was thank him and continue to smile and giggle. So he smiles and continues to enter the store and I continue my way out. I called my brother soon after to tell him who I just saw and he asked me if I said my favorite line of his to him from Burn After Reading; "What the F**k!" HA! Now that would have been hilarious, I would never have said it but I wonder on the off chance that I had, what he'd have done! I'm sure he would be shocked but I wonder if he would have laughed and enjoyed it, or if he would just be shocked and upset and thought I was crazy!

Wow, I still really can't believe it happened. I mean it was John Malkovich and he really looked just as crazy as he seems, but sooooo cool! And he was complimenting ME!? Wild! I am starting to think that these star sightings of mine are a little insane, I mean I am meeting some pretty great stars and actually having somewhat of conversations with them! I even met and talked to Christian Slater while at the movies with my friend Tim! We were watching Michael Jackson's "This is It" and he was there with his SUPER hot girlfriend and after the movie ended he was singing along to the music in the credits! Tim was the one to spot him and pointed him out to me and I said I was going to stop and say hi, because as you know from one of my previous entries I think it is totally fine to approach stars because we make them stars! So anyway back to Christian, as Tim and I were walking out I stopped and went up to him and excused myself and said that had a great cameo on Curb Your Enthusiasm and that I must have watched Heathers like a hundred times! He thanked me very sweetly and smiled and shook my hand.

I have to say that I have these little fantasies that I will get to a point in my career where people will notice me one day and approach me. I will hopefully think back tho these moments of mine and actually have conversations with my fans so that maybe I can give them as fun an experience as these stars have given me! Ok....that was my cheesy moment, don't hold it against me ok!

Totally unrelated to the above, there was a 5.4 earthquake today that shook the building I work in for close to a minute! ( well maybe not a minute but it definitely shook the longest I have felt out of the 3 total I have felt now ) It was wild, I was talking to a girl next to me and had my back to the girl on the other side and I thought she was shaking my chair to get my attention but then people all over the office were saying they were feeling something! People were coming out of their offices and coming by and there was a little commotion in the office because of it. Well I made the mistake of watching the news when I got home for way too long and heard scientists saying stuff like this is leading up to a big one, and ones saying that there are many more to come soon! I am hoping that they are all wrong, and my roommate is right when she heard that having these small ones is relieving the pressure so that there isn't one HUGE one!

Ok so this blog entry was a little bit all over the place, but I just thought I would let you all know what has been happening on the West Coast the past couple days for yours truly! Ok, so sleep well and I will blog more soon :-)

Well folks you know what Wednesday was don't you? Oh yes, that's right Eclipse!!! Yep, there I was at 11:30 pm waiting for the theater doors to open so that nobody had the chance to sit in my seat! Oh and the seat was fantastic! it was only one over from perfectly center! So how was the movie you ask? I absolutely loved it, it was everything I wanted it to be. Now as I'm sure you have figured out I am totally bias since I adored the books, but it really was great. They stuck to the book really well, and there were even funny lines that I actually laughed at because they were funny and not just corny. The fight scene was done really well, which I was a little worried about, and the end was done well also. I am extremely excited for the final two films, and will be seeing this one again for sure. Now get to your nearest theater and check it out already!

What I would like to talk about now is what happened while I was waiting for Eclipse to start. First I sat down and was the only one in my Row for the first ten minutes of waiting, thinking to myself about what I was about to watch and I immediately needed to remind myself of a few important points: In the Twilight Saga these vampires don't have fangs, they do come out in the day time, and they are sweet and innocent high schoolers. It's True Blood where they have fangs, can't come out in the day light, and are extremely provocative and just nasty hot! Yes that's right I needed to remind myself since there are just so many vampire's roaming the Television and films these days. Yes, I am also obsessed with True Blood, but those books I haven't started reading yet but will be reading them soon. I like to say that Twilight are my wholesome sweet stories and True Blood are my raunchy exciting stories!

Now let's get to who sat next to me, first there were the three girls that sat to the right of me whining to each other about being tired. One was saying I'm tired I can't stay awake and the other two were whining loudly telling her to shut up and just stay awake-uh! The one who sat right next to me immediately got on her phone and started talking loudly and cracking up telling the person she was talking to to shut up, noway, shut up, no way! Really? Soon I had a group that sat to the left of me that were first of all a really odd looking group, one dressed to the nine's, one dressed in pajama's, another one dressed in Chicago style winter clothes, and one dressed like she would never spend less then $500 on a blouse. Also their ages ranged from early 20's- 60's and they didn't look related, it was just an odd looking group. I was really blessed because the one who wore the ubber expensive clothes sat next to me with her pompous crossed legs and attitude. So there she was sitting there talking so loud you could hear here in the back of the theater and all I could do was pray she would shut up by the time the movie started.

The only good thing that came out of her sitting next to me is this next part which is something that just cracked me up in fact, I'm still laughing thinking about it. There she was sitting and blathering on about the most inane subjects ever when she started talking to her friend next to her (a 43 year old Asian male) about shoes. Now it was what she said that was the best part and here it is:

Girl: You know what I hate, I hate when you buy sneakers and wear them and the tongue thingy rubs on your foot.

Guy: What, what about shoes?

Girl: You know when the tongue thingy like rubs and scrapes your foot.

Guy: Hold on, I don't get it, what? Were we talking about shoes?

Girl: Yeah I'm not buying just any sneakers anymore, you know I saw these really great Louis sneakers. I think I'm gonna just get those they probably won't rub or scrape.

Guy: Ok, I'm lost, I don't understand you're not wearing sneakers, were we talking about sneakers? Why were we talking about sneakers?

Bahaha, there I was just totally eaves dropping and just started cracking up. Thank god there was a funny preview on and it was appropriate to be laughing, but man was I laughing! This chick was so loud and she had that typical snooty girl voice, and her friend was so confused and so lost. To be honest I'm pretty sure she was bugging the s**t out of him too. She was just lucky that she did shut up when the movie started because I would not have hesitated to ask her to shut her trap!

Joining me in the theater were of course the serious Twihards! There were a few people there that had bite marks on their neck ( PS the vampires in Twilight don't have fangs, at least I remember that! ) and even one guy with his face covered in sparkles. The best were the loud sobbing sounds during Edward and Bella scenes of girls who were sad that they weren't being loved on by Edward Cullen. Actually, it was a little scary to hear some of the sobbing, I mean I am obviously in love with these films and the books but I would never be that obsessed. Though I guess I do have to admit that if I were my age now or at least in high school when Dirty Dancing first came out I would most likely be the sobbing wacky girl completely freaking out while watching MY!!!!! Patrick Swayze on the screen. Ahhhh swooon, how I loved my Johnny Castle ok girls I apologize for giggling to myself as you cried wishing to be Bella in Edward's arms because I longed to be Baby in Johnny's arms. Therefore I take it all back, go ahead and let it all out.
